| The
Garrettsville-Hiram Area - a good place to visit, a great
place to live.
There is only one Garrettsville in the world. A friendly community with 2,300 residents, more than 100 businesses and several major industries, it is located within a few miles of the exact geographic center of the Akron-Cleveland-Youngstown triangle. It was "born and raised" to meet the marketing demands of rural residents settling in the Western Reserve early in the nineteenth century. Today, one mile square, the village boasts a main business district and two shopping plazas and continues to attract shoppers from a tricounty area. Within 40 miles of Garrettsville are 34 percent of Ohio's population, 34 percent of Ohio's business establishments and 38 percent of the people employed in the state's businesses and industries. Yet the community, surrounded by the hills and maple woods of rural northeastern Ohio, retains a small-town charm and offers urban advantages without sacrificing suburban peace, quiet and quaintness. Garrettsville's advantages include excellent public schools and proximity to many institutes of higher education including, Hiram College and Kent State University. A choice of churches, adequate medical care, good stores with a wide selection of quality merchandise and a wide range of employment opportunities are available. This traditional Western Reserve atmosphere offers fine housing and uncrowded living conditions. Garrettsville lies at the intersection of two major state highways which provide ready access to the interstate highway system. It is a one hour drive to the Cleveland, Akron and Youngstown airports and their respective downtown areas. Garrettsville is truly a good place to visit and a great place to live. |
